Recoil starter:
1)
While the engine is running, pull the starter cord with a quick, powerful pull three or
four times. Pulling the starter cord will produce a loud clattering sound that is not
harmful to the engine.
2)
Move the throttle to the STOP position.
3)
Remove the ignition key and store it in a safe place.
4)
Wipe all snow and moisture from the area around the engine and the area in and
around the drive control levers and auger. Also activate and release both handles
several times.
Clean-out tool
The clean-out tool is attached to the back of the auger housing with a mounting clip. If snow
and ice have blocked the discharge, follow the procedure below to free the discharge safely.
1)
Release both the auger lever and the drive control lever.
2)
Stop the engine by removing the ignition key.
3)
Remove the clean-out tool from the clip.
WARNING
The silencer, engine and surrounding areas become hot and can cause burns. Do
not touch them.
4)
Use the shovel end of the clean-out tool to remove and push all snow and ice that has
formed in and around the discharge.
5)
Attach the clean-out tool to the mounting clip on the back of the auger housing,
reinsert the ignition key and start the snow thrower engine.
6)
While standing in the operator's position (behind the snow thrower), activate the auger
for a few seconds to remove any remaining snow and ice from the discharge.
Gear selector
1)
With the throttle in the Fast (rabbit) position, move the gear selector to one of the six
forward (F) positions or two reverse (R) positions. Choose a speed that suits the snow
conditions and a pace you are comfortable with.
NB: When selecting a driving speed, use the slower speed until you are comfortable
and familiar with the operation of the snow thrower.
