Methods of Accessing System Information
An overview of ways to access
data is shown in Figure 21.
The Gateway gathers data
from inverters over a connected
power line. The Gateway
displays information on its
touch screen. With a suitable
Ethernet network connection, it
is capable of acting as a web
server, allowing a local
computer or a remote computer
with firewall access to see
system performance as it is
happening, displayed on a web
page. Data is also transferred to
servers to gather history, which
can be accessed remotely. More
details are given below.
Registering Inverters
The Communications Gateway is intelligent.
When required to discover ProHarvest inverters, it
will do so with just the press of a button.
Occasionally it may be preferable to manually
register inverters. This is also easy to achieve.
Both procedures are described beginning below.
6.5.4.1. Automatic Discovery of Inverters
The Gateway will search for any inverters in the
local area. On the
Inverters
tab the <
Setup
>
button
A
will open the
Array Setup
screen. Press
the <
Discover
> button
B
to search. In most cases
nothing else will be required. All available
inverters will appear on the list in Figure 22.
NOTE
: If discovery occurred previously, the
Add Only
box C is checked to speed up the
process. (Only new inverters will be discovered.)
Unchecking this box causes all inverters to
be rediscovered from scratch.
Automatic discovery of inverters may also be
achieved from the web interface as noted
in Figure 23(c).
