4.4.9.1 Audio Format Overview

RADAR II can record projects using either 16-bit or true 24-bit audio format.  

24-bit audio provides the ultimate quality in digital audio - however, 24-bit projects
uses up disk space faster, take longer to back up and restore, and may not be
compatible with earlier hardware/software products.  

16-bit projects offer excellent audio quality, use less disk space, back up and restore
faster, and maintain compatibility with earlier hardware and software that may not
support 24-bit audio. (16-bit RADAR II projects may be backed up onto tape, and
restored onto RADAR I systems.  However, 24-bit projects cannot be transferred to
earlier RADAR systems.)

RADAR II may have both 16-bit and 24-bit projects on the same hard disk(s)
simultaneously - however the projects cannot share audio files.  

Please Note: You must make this selection before starting a new project.  After the

project is started in one format, it cannot be changed to the other.

To select/change the default Audio Format, select the DEF AUDIO
FORMAT item from the Preferences menu.

4.4.9.2 Changing RADAR II's Default Audio Format

Press the MENU/PREV button.

Scroll UP/DOWN through the choices until the PREFERENCES menu
item is displayed.

Press ENTER.
