Warnings:
do not exceed 135˚C (275˚F).
Remove from autoclave immediately after finished cycle.
Allow to cool down before use; handle carefully when hot.
Do not wash in dishwasher.
Do not pour liquids directly into any of the connectors.
Waste
The Osstell IDx (instrument, probe, charger and USB cable) should be recycled as electrical equipment.
SmartPegs should be recycled as metal. Whenever possible, the battery should be disposed in a discharged
state to avoid heat generation through inadvertent short-circuiting.
14) Firmware update
The instrument firmware can be upgraded in two ways:
1. Connect the instrument to the internet, (see SETTINGS section) and an automatic search for new updates
will start. If a new version has been released, a pop-up window will appear and instruct you on how to
proceed.

2. Download the latest version on
www.OsstellConnect.com
to a USB memory. Insert the USB memory into the
USB port of the Osstell IDx while it is on. The update will start automatically. Follow the instructions to finish.
Attention!
All other equipment (not provided with the Osstell IDx) that is connected to the Osstell IDx must
meet the applicable IEC standard.
15) Backup
A backup of the data on the Osstell IDx can be saved to a USB thumb drive and/or online (Osstell Connect).
Go to settings and “export” to create a backup. Choose “import” to restore an existing backup.
16) Technical information
Technical description
Osstell IDx is CE-marked according to MDD in Europe. Osstell IDx is constructed according to, and fulfills, the
standards EN 60601-1 (Class II, internally powered, type BF applied parts. Not AP or APG equipment. Not
protected against ingress of water), and EN 60601-1-2. The symbols used, follow the European standard EN
60601-1 and ISO standards 9687 and 15223 as far as possible.
Battery and charger
The instrument contains a lithium-ion battery.
The instrument should only be charged with the Osstell IDx power supply. Battery charging is indicated by a
flashing blue LED. The battery symbol displays the approximate status of the battery. A filled symbol indicates
batteries are at 100% capacity.
The power supply operates with mains voltage from 100 to 240 VAC, 50-60 Hz. Thus it can be used in most
countries in the world using the appropriate plug adapter. Use only in dry, indoor locations.
To disconnect the equipment from supply mains, disconnect the charger from the mains socket outlet.
Accuracy
ISQ accuracy is /- 0.5 ISQ units for a single SmartPeg. The accuracy between different SmartPegs is
+/- 2 ISQ units.
