6.8 Closing of the outriggers

The outriggers closing procedure is similar to their opening; follow the same indications.
The SPX424CDH/C+ machinery is programmed NOT to operate the outriggers until all the
following conditions are met:

No load shall be hanging from the crane (Unloaded crane),
extensions shall be completely retracted (Retracted extensions) and
the position shall be as described in paragraph “6.7Stop and laying-
up of the machinery SPX424CDH” page 75.

Lift  the  outriggers  by  means  of  their
dedicated  levers  until  the  track  rests  on  the
ground;  go  on  lifting  the  outriggers  until  they
reach  such  a  height  enabling  to  close  their
arm in complete safety.

Remove the safety pin and pull out the locking pin.

CAUTION!

If at the time of closing the machinery the outriggers position is at
0°, lift them from the ground to a max height lower that that of the
boom, turn them outwards, close them completely and stow them.
This is meant to avoid damaging components and accessories
installed on the boom sides.
