7 PREPARATION OF TYPES AND MATRIXES FOR GILDING
Types
Types are mounted in the O.Master Frame MP 02 indirectly – using the O.Frame GP5 / MP 02
frames adequate for the types used.
Contact your device supplier for an offer of frames for other combinations of type sizes.
1. Remove the frame from the heater holding the frame by plastic handles.
2. Place the frame in a holder – this facilitates mounting frames with types and matrixes
in the frame.
Note
If the frame was used before or was placed on the heater when the device was warming
up, let the frame cool down for a few minutes.
3. Place a matrix or O.Frame GP5 / MP 02 of the required size (or sets of frames and
matrixes) centrally in the frame.
4. If types are arranged, loosen the screws of type stops and move the stops to the side.
5. Place the individual types in the frames using the provided tweezers and compose the
required text. If larger types are used (5.5 - 16 mm), insert the tips of the tweezers into
special holes in the types. Try to arrange the types in the frame symmetrically.
Note
The holes in the types enable to distinguish between the top and the bottom of a type.
The bottom hole is larger or located closer to the edge. There are no holes in 4 mm types,
these only have markers at the bottom.
6. Move the stops to the set types and lock them by slightly tightening the screws.












