The width of the reel with the foil should not exceed 230 mm.
Use a foil supplied by OPUS. Other foils may not provide satisfying results or even make
gilding impossible. Ask your supplier about the available types of foil.
Note
If stamping with no gilding is carried out, or if foil sheets are used and the winder is
not installed, set the foil winding parameter to “0”.
5. Using the magnetic stops provided, position the cover properly under the heater.
Make several tests on scrap material, adjust the stops if necessary. To facilitate
material positioning on the table, slide the table from under the matrix.
6. Set proper stamping force. “0” indicates minimum pressure, “50” is maximum
pressure. Proper pressure depends on the type of surface and/or the type of
gilding / stamping made. The starting value should be “10”.
7. Wait until the set temperature of the heater is reached (the device may take
several minutes to attain the ready status after switching on).
8. After the set heater temperature is reached (and after some additional time for
heating the matrix/types), the device is ready for operation.
Note
The initially set temperature is 100°C, which is appropriate in most cases. Even if no
foil is used during stamping, it is still advisable to perform hot stamping, as this
usually warrants better quality of stamping.
9. Insert the cover under the heater. If sheet foil is used, place it on the cover
beforehand.
10. Lower the lever of the device in two steps. First gently pull the arm towards
yourself (set the lever vertically) and wait until the matrix moves close to the cover
but does not touch it yet (ready position, single beep), and then pull the lever all
the way down. When the stamping time elapses, a double beep is given and the
Time value displayed is “0”.
