Drilling-Milling machine
Maintenance
How?
An increased clearance in the spindles of the cross table
can be reduced by readjusting the spindle nuts.
Spindle nut adjusting screw
Illustr.5-6: Spindle nut X - axis (milling table faded out)
The spindle nuts are readjusted by reducing the flank of
screw thread of the spindle nut with an adjusting screw. By
readju-sting a smooth running move over the whole toolpath
is to be assured, otherwise the wear by friction between
spindle nut / spindle would increase considerably.
The readjustment screw of the Y axis can be attained from
the backside, the readjustment screw of the spindle nut of the
X axis can be attained from the right or left side of the milling
table.
An enlarged clearance in the spindle of the Z-axis can be per-
formed by reciprocal turning of the spindle nut.

By readjusting a smooth running move over the whole
toolath is to be assured, otherwise the wear by friction
between spindle nut / spindle would increase considerably.
Turn the crank of the drilling-milling head as low as
possi-ble.
Firmly clamp the clamping lever left and right.
Remove the maintenance lid on the column.
