97 Infotainment system
Troubleshooting
If your Infotainment system does not
func tion as you would expect, plea se read
these Operating Instructions ca refully and
go throug h the following checklist before
contacting Custom er Services.
If you c annot find a solution to the
problem , we rec om mend that you consult
an Opel Servic e Partner.

Gene ral
Display is dark. Vehicle’s battery is weak (if operated without the engine running);
See page 159.
Display is difficult to read. Instrument illumination is set incorrectly; See page 76.
Infotainment system cannot
be switched on either with the
X e knob or with the ignition key.
Infotainment system fuse or vehicle fusebox is defective.
Incorrect time on the display Set time as specified on page 82.
Audio
Audio playback volume constantly
decreases and cannot be adjusted.
Infotainment system is overheating. Internal temperature regulator is
acting to protect the Infotainment system.
Recommendation: sw itch the Infotainment system off.
Stored station cannot be selected
with the appropriate button

No reception for station currently.
Stored station not stored with
station name.
Broadcasting organisation occasionally sends additional information.
Try to store it again when the station name appears on the display.
Poor reception when storing (frequency is displayed).
Broadcasting organisation is not transmitting RDS information
(frequency is displayed).
“CHECK DISC” appears on the
display.
After loading a CD:
CD incorrectly inserted. CD label may be caught in the player.
Incompatible audio CD inserted (DVD etc.).
CD scratched or otherwise damaged.
Insert an undamaged, compatible CD with the printed side upwards.
During CD playback:
Temperature of Infotainment system too high.
Wait until the temperature of the unit has returned to normal.
Air is too humid. Wait for conditions to improve.
Road surface is uneven. When road surface becomes smoother, CD
should play again.
“Calibration Error” appears on the
display
Infotainment system has not been calibrated correctly. Return vehicle to
your retailer for service.
“Locked” appears on the display. Electronic theft-deterrent feature has locked up the Infotainment
system. Return vehicle to your retailer for service.
An ejected CD that has not been
accepted is retracted again by the
unit when the ignition/unit is
switched off.
No error.
Remove the CD before switching off the ignition/ Infotainment system.
