10. Maintenance,
troubleshooting
The XANTO RT series requires very little maintenance in the
course of operation. It uses maintenance-free lead gel accu-
mulators and features an intelligent battery management sys-
tem, which monitors the battery status constantly and charges
the batteries automatically when necessary.
10.1 Storage
If the batteries are to be stored in temperate climatic zones,
they should be charged every three months for 1-2 hours. You
should shorten the charging intervals to two months at loca-
tions subject to high temperatures.
10.2 Battery maintenance
The battery is the key component of the UPS system. The
battery has a limited life expectancy, which is heavily depend-
ent on the ambient temperature and the number of charg-
ing/discharging cycles. If the battery is used in high ambient
temperatures and discharged totally, its life expectancy will be
shortened considerably.
1.) Maintain a constant ambient temperature of 20°C
2.) Avoid short and frequent discharges
The XANTO RT 1000 is equipped with a hot swap battery,
which means that the battery can be replaced by the user
while the system is in operation. Replacement batteries are
available from ONLINE USV-Systeme AG directly or from any
authorised dealer.
