Large-scale Configuration

A large-scale network system consisting of hundreds of devices can be configured by connecting several
10Base-5 network segments together using repeaters.

Transceiver cable (AUI cable) 
(Length: 50 m max.)

Repeater

Multiport 
transceiver

The length of the AUI cable 
from the coaxial cable to the 
multiport transceiver terminal is 
50 m max. Multiport 
transceivers support cascade 
connections for up totwo 
segments. A total of four 
repeaters and hubs can be used 
between any two terminals.
