6-2 Stereo measurement function (only applicable to
G Lite (stereo measurement))
To perform stereo measurement, it is necessary to use a stereo optical adapter (optional) and
expand the functionality to support IPLEX G Lite (stereo measurement function, optionaly).
The 3D coordinates of each specified point are calculated by applying the principles of
triangulation to a set of images obtained using two objective lenses that are set in parallax.
Measurements are done based on these coordinates.
As the measurement results obtained here are affected by surface conditions of the
measurement object or image capturing conditions such as the brightness, Olympus
cannot guarantee the accuracy of measurement results. We recommend that users
identify the measurement accuracy through experiments.
This method of measurement is used to find out the corresponding points on 2 images (same
position on both the image on the left and the one on the right) that are obtained using two
objective lenses which are set in parallax. Proper measurements cannot be obtained if the
corresponding points are incorrect, so please make sure to understand the content of the
respective chapters thoroughly before using the stereo measurement function.
This stereo measurement function allows you to select the display mode of the live image from
either the monocular view or the binocular view.
The monocular view is a display mode to observe the approach to the measurement area easily
on the screen.
The observation of special light is possible on this instrument with the LED unit optionaly, but
the stereo measurement function cannot be used when observing the special light.
