a) The field of view of one eye does

Change one eyepiece to match the
other so that both sides are of the
same type.

You are not accustomed to parallel opti-
cal axis.
When looking into eyepieces, do not
stare at image from the beginning but
see the overall field of view. It is some-
times recommended to turn your eyes
away from eyepieces, look far off and
look into eyepieces again.

4. Stage
a) Stage travel in the horizontal (X-axis)
direction stops in the middle.
The specimen is set incorrectly.
Place the specimen correctly.

b) The X-axis and/or Y-axis stage
knobs are too light or too heavy to
rotate.
The X-axis and/or Y-axis rotation tension
is not adjusted properly.
Adjust the knobs to optimum tension.

d) The brightness cannot be varied
with the light intensity control.
The lamp bulb is burnt out.
Replace the lamp bulb.

e) The BX-UCB’s Z/AF gets into the
error status immediately after the
control box is turned on, and no op-
eration is possible.
Emergency stop is activated because the
focus adjustment knob is operated dur-
ing initialization.
Turn the control box off and then on
again to perform the initialization op-
eration.
