Chapter 4 Failure & Repair Analysis

RAP 01: Printer Does Not Initialize

START

Power OFF the printer, then power the printer ON.

Are all 8s displayed on the operator panel?

Is the AC cable properly connected?

YES

Go to

STEP-1.

Correctly connect the cable.

YES

Does INITIALIZING appear on the LCD display?

Replace the main control board.

YES

Is the ON LINE / "emulation" message displayed on the LCD display?

YES

End of procedure.

Replace the main controller board.
