When only a single image channel is displayed (see Showing and
Hiding Image Channels below), the grayscale image map can be
inverted by clicking

Invert

in the toolbar and then clicking the

Black/White

button. Clicking

Black/White

toggles between a white

image background with black bands and a black background with
white bands.
