‘Carriage control character’
Carriage control character specifies the type of carriage control in the line data. This infor-
mation is ignored if the data consists of structured fields only.
All data sets must be in SPDS format, i.e. consist of structured fields, line data or a mixture
of both. In line data and mixed data, each line commences with a carriage control byte.
Available options: ASA

OCE / SNI
’Table reference character'
TRC specifies the interpretation of a TRC byte in line data.
In line data, the second character in each line can be interpreted as a TRC byte (Table Ref-
erence Character). This byte can be used for changing fonts within line data.
Available options: none (no interpretation of TRC bytes)

This information is ignored if the print file does not contain line data.
Note: If you want to enter a ‘Page sequence’, ‘Carriage control character’ or ‘Table refer-
ence character’ manually, you must click the 'Add a new entry' button. in the open-
ing dialog box fill in an alias name and under 'Item' the value of the item (not the
physical name as in the other 'Add a new entry' dialog box of the 'Resource Librar-
ies' and 'Resource File Extension' tabs). The difference between the ‘Options – Add
a new item window’ to the other ‘Add a
new item’ windows is the ‘Item’ field.
Attention: In the item field you enter directly the specified default character (value).
’Number of Pages’
Specifiy the number of pages of the print file.
Detect: Enables count of pages, only if pages are not specified.
Page counting does not work, if conditional processing/formatting is
used with line data/mixed data. Additionally the pagedef and the re-
source library, which contains this pagedef, must be defined in the job
ticket for each print file. The function does not work, if the pagedef and
libraries are defined in the printer defaults only. If the Carriage Control
Character (parameter Pdscc) is not defined in the job ticket, the default
