’Network’ Menu
A menu called 'Network’ is shown when the Hosts tab is open. This menu provides the fol-
lowing functions:
’Host Name’ The configured host name
’Type’ The function of the host in the ODS network:
Master: the host with master rights; each system can have only one mas-
ter. A maszer can also work as a print server and perform RIP functions.
Print : a computer with a printing system attached to it, which
can also perform RIP functions.
Print Server: a pure print server, which only drives printers. It is inserted
in the master/slave configuration as PrintSlave.
RIP Server: a computer on which a converter or the Professional Docu-
ment Composer is installed.
Rip: a computer on which a converter, Professional Document Compo-
ser or UnityRIP (on Windows) is installed
’Operating system’ States which operating system is installed
’Free memory’ The amount of free memory in the 'u' file system.
’Status’ The computer status:
ok: the connection to the master is OK
offline: the connection to the master is closed or an error has been re-
ported.
job acception disabled: No new jobs are accepted. Already started job
keep on processing. Job acception can be reactivated via the ’Network’
menu.
missing resources: System falls below an ODS parameter value.
’ODS Network Status’ Displays the overall status of the PRISMAproduction network.
’Synchronize Time ’ Synchronises the system clocks on the hosts in the ODS network
to the time on the ODS master
’Cleanup Directories ’ This function searches all the directories on all the hosts in the
ODS network and deletes files that are no longer required. You are
prompted to confirm the delete operation before it is executed.
’Enable job acception’ Enables the host for accepting ODS jobs.
’Disable job acception’ Disables the host for accepting ODS jobs.
’Enable job processing’ Activates the global job processing of the ODS. This setting cont-
rols, if jobs which are in the ODS are processed. It does not influ-
ence the job acception of the ODS.
