11 – 2 HMH Series Attachment
Symptoms
Causes/Points of checking
Countermeasures
The Attachment cannot be connected to the
Motor.
The Alignment Pin is not in position.
Connect the Attachment correctly (see "4 – 1
Connecting and Disconnecting the
Attachment").
Connection part has been deformed.
Contact your Authorized NSK Dealer.
The Cutting Accessory cannot be firmly
mounted.
The Cutting Accessory has not been
inserted deep enough.
Insert the Cutting Accessory all the way
through.
The Twist Collet or Latch is in ' OPEN '
(Chuck Open position).
After inserting the Cutting Accessory, fasten
the Twist Collet or slide the Latch (Chuck Close
position).
The Chuck is closed.
Check the procedure of Mounting and
Removing Cutting Accessories, etc.
Incorrect Cutting Accessory is mounted.
Check the applicable Cutting Accessory.
The Cutting Accessory mounted has been
deformed.
Replace the Cutting Accessory with a new one.
Twist Collet has been damaged or
deformed.
Contact your Authorized NSK Dealer.
No rotation when the Hand Switch is
depressed.
Safety Lock of the Motor is " OFF ".
Slide the Safety Lock of the Motor to the ON
position.
– In case of no rotation when the Safety
Lock is in ON position, there may be a
malfunction. Contact your Authorized NSK
Dealer.
No rotation when the Cutting Accessory is
securely mounted.

The bearing has overheated.
●
Foreign materials inside.
●
The bearing has worn out.
Contact your Authorized NSK Dealer.
Heat generation during operation.
The Twist Collet or Latch is in ' OPEN '
(Chuck Open position).
After inserting the Cutting Accessory, fasten
the Twist Collet or slide the Latch (Chuck Close
position).
Continuous use over a long period.
Stop using the Attachment and the Motor
immediately. Wait until the Attachment and
Motor cool down before using the Attachment
and Motor again.
The Cutting Accessory mounted has been
deformed.
Replace the Cutting Accessory with a new one.
The blade part of the Cutting Accessory
mounted has worn out.
