Maintenance and safety checks
The maintenance intervals will depend on intensity of use, but should take place a minimum of once a year. The maintenance instructions
set out below represent the minimum scope of the maintenance tasks to be carried out.
Component Version
Hinges
Hinges and locking parts should be checked regularly for correct positioning and wear
and tear. Fixation screws should be tightened up and parts replaced wherever necessary.
Door hinges are not maintenance-free: it is required to lubricate their bearings (except
3D hinges).
Pressure ball bearings
Where you detect damage (broken rings, defective coverings, broken or lost balls) replace
the bearing with a new one.
Handle fittings
Check correct functioning: Handle must rest in horizontal position due to the spring force
of the lock. Check fixation.
Seals
Seals are sitting correctly, and checks should be made for damage and incomplete parts,
and such parts should be replaced where necessary. Only original seals approved by the
manufacturer should be used.
Sills
Sills should be checked for damage and correct positioning and should be replaced or
adjusted in position where appropriate. In addition, sealing should be checked for
completeness and should be renewed where appropriate.
Electrical door openers Electrical door openers should be lubricated regularly.
Silicon seams
Silicon seams should be checked for damage and incompleteness, and should be renewed
where necessary. Only silicone products that are chemically compatible with contiguous
parts should be used.
Surfaces
Surfaces should be checked annually for damage and completeness and repaired or re-
newed as necessary. If some unusual incident (e.g. an impact, or heavy hail, etc.) should
occur, then immediately after the incident a check should be made and remedial measures
taken in order to prevent downstream damage.
Locks
The free movement of latches and bolts should be checked. In cases where latches are
jammed, graphite oil can be sprayed into the lock chamber. In addition, latch bevels should
be lubricated in order to reduce sliding friction. Below you will find a number of notes from
the manufacturer of the lock on how to treat the lock.

No drill holes should be inserted
in the lock area of any door leaf
where a lock has been installed.

Only press handle in normal
operating direction. A maxi-
mum of 150 N may be exerted
in operating direction.

be fitted to emergency doors

forced through the spindle hub

Lock the lock using only the
key belonging to that lock
(do not use unsuitable objects

or carried by the door handle.

The bolt should not be pre-
locked when the door is open.

Double-leaf doors should not
be forced open by putting
pressure on the inactive leaf.

Space between strike plate and
lock mechanism: 2-5 mm, for
GU-Secury Automatic: 3-5 mm

The handle and key should not
be operated simultaneously.
14.
The lock must be replaced
immediately upon detecting
any sign of them being forced

Neither bolt nor latch should
be painted or varnished.
10.
No key should be left inserted
in locks on emergency doors.
15.
Lubricate locks at least once a
year with non-resinous oil.
