Procedure 3-9
Viewing and customizing error messages
Use this procedure to view errors that occur during the backup or restore
process.
Use this procedure to also do the following:
• change states for errors
• add text to an error
• delete an error
Refer to Figure 3-8, The Manage Errors tab on page 3-27.
Requirements
Before you start, you must
• be at the Network Wide Backup & Restore window
• select the Manage Errors tab
• have admin privileges (to update or to delete)
Action
Step Action
1 View the errors in the Error Administration window.
Note: Click on the Refresh button to update the view.
2 Go to the Error # field. Type the number of the error you want to edit.
3 Determine if you want to change the state of the error or add text to the error
message.
4 Go to the New State: field. Select the state from the option menu.
Note: States are defined in the Preferences tab.
5 Click on the Delete button to delete the error.
6 Go to the New Text: field. Type information about the error or instructions to
maintenance personnel (to a maximum of 80 characters).
7 Click on the Update button.
