Detailed Operation
Alarm Settings
Users may adjust the alarm limits for upper and lower SpO
2
and pulse rate alarms and alarm volume
as in table 3. Adjusting alarm settings is only possible when the device is in Setup mode (see
“Adjusting Settings in Setup Mode”). When alarm settings have not been recalled or adjusted in
Setup mode, the default alarm settings remain in effect.
The intended operator’s position for correctly perceiving a visual alarm signal and its priority is
1 meter (3.3 feet), per IEC 60601-1-8.
WARNING: To comply with relevant product safety standards, ensure that all alarm
volumes are set appropriately and are audible in all situations. Do not cover or
otherwise hinder any speaker openings.
WARNING: Verify all alarm setting and limits during system startup to ensure that they
are set as intended.
CAUTION:
Review all limits to ensure they are appropriate for the animal.
CAUTION:
Setting alarm limits to extremes can render the alarm system useless.
