7.4.7 DC motor (40274-E027)

Replacement part: 40274-E027

1 . Remove the grooving ASSY (40274-7210)

(see 7.1.22 [p119])

2 . Remove the DC motor (40274-E027) by the procedure below.

1 ) Unscrew CK2 × 3 (n = 7) to remove lid 1 (40274-M727).
2 ) Unscrew SB4 × 6 to remove the sili-

cone tube (82011-HT048) from the
nylon clamp (80423-20035).

3 ) Pull out the contact pin from the plug

housing (80458-06026) of the DC
motor (40274-E027).

4 ) Pull out the cable of the DC motor

(40274-E027) from the silicone tube
(82011-HT048).

5 ) Unscrew SB3 × 6 (n = 2) to remove

lid 2 (40274-M728).

6 ) Remove the timing belt (40274-

M736) only from the pulley with no
flange.

7 ) Unscrew SB2 × 8 (n = 2) to remove

the DC motor (40274-E027) from the
arm (40274-M726).

8 ) Loosen HH3 × 3 (n = 2), remove the

small pulley (40274-M734), and
replace the DC motor (40274-E027).

3 . Reassemble the parts in the reverse order.

4 . Perform the following.

1 ) Grooving ASSY Adjustment

(See 8.8 [p181].)

2 ) Wheel calibration

(See 8.12.3 [p191].)

3 ) Groove calibration

(See 8.12.4 [p192].)

4 ) Processing Adjustment

(See 8.14 [p197].)

5 ) Backing up the EEPROM data

(See 8.19.1 [p284].)

Caution

For the instruments with S/N700001 to 700009, replace the grooving ASSY (40274-
7210/721S) because the DC motor is sealed with the liquid gasket.
For those with S/N700010 and later, be sure to replace gasket 1 (40274-M732) and
gasket 2 (40274-M733) with new ones when replacing the DC motor (40274-E027).

Caution

After inserting the contact pin into the plug housing (804-58-06026), lightly pull
the housing and cable to confirm that it does not come off.
