Pipe installation
EVC 13
13
The boiler has the circulation pump placed on the re-
turn pipe. The pump capacity setting is made with the
help of the diagram.
Should a pump find it difficult to start, (for example,
after a long period of being shut off) it can be helped
by temporarily setting the capacity selector to the
highest position to give the maximum starting torque.
When the pump starts, the selector is reset to the pre-
vious setting. When, despite this, the pump does not
start, see the section “Causes and dealing with mal-
functions” - “Helping the circulation pump to start”.
The flow should not exceed 1700 l/h in order to pre-
vent cavitation problems in the pipes.
Pipe installation must be carried out in accordance
with current norms and directives. The boiler is
equipped with R 20 male connections. The shut off
valves should be fitted outside of EVC 13 to facilitate
future service.

EVC 13 is equipped with a tapping valve (51) on the
boiler with an R15 (

the valve should be dismantled and the hose coupling
screwed on when draining the boiler The tapping
valve is opened. The safety valve (52) is then opened
to provide an air supply. The tapping valve for the radi-
ator system should be located in a suitable position.

The waste water pipe should be routed according to
applicable regulations. The waste water pipe from the
safety valve should be routed to a floor drain and de-
signed so that hot water can not splash when the
valve needs to be checked or the boiler vented. The
outlet of the waste water pipe should be visible. When
installing the NIBE COMPACT water heater the elec-
tric boiler's waste water pipe can be routed straight
down through the hot water heater's top plate.
NOTE!
The pipe system should be flushed out
so that contamination can not damage
the equipment.

Filling connection (79), 15 mm copper tube, is con-
nected to the system’s freshwater supply. When filling
the heating system, the filling valve (49) must be
opened and the system is then filled with water. Note
when the pressure rises on the pressure gauge. When
the pointer reaches 2.5 bar, the safety valve (52)
opens and starts to release air mixed water. Stop fill-
ing. Turn the safety valve until the boiler pressure
reaches the normal working range (0.5 - 1.5 bar).
The electric boiler should be transported and stored in
the dry. EVC 13 is designed to be positioned on top of
an electric water heater type NIBE COMPACT. Make
sure that the anode in the hot water heater is accessi-
ble.
NOTE!
EVC 13 must be installed horizontally, at least
50 cm from the floor. There must be an air gap of at
least 10 mm under the boiler's base plate so that elec-
tric components receive sufficient ventilation air.
A space of approximately 30 cm above and approxi-
mately 60 cm in front of the boiler must be left for in-
stallation and accessibility when performing service
work.
