GENFLEX

TAG ARRAY

The GenFlex

Tag Array uses nucleic acid hybridization to parse as

many as 2000 individual reaction products from complex pooled
mixtures. An Affymetrix GenFlex Tag array uses a group of probe cells
for each tag.

The GenFlex Tag analysis algorithm determines the intensity data and
background data for each tag on the array.

The analysis results are displayed in the GenFlex Tag window
(see

Chapter 7, Universal Tag Window, on page 253

). You can export the

analysis results in formats that other software applications can use.

Using GTYPE with GCOS

The Affymetrix

GTYPE software analyzes intensity data generated

by the GCOS.

GCOS

In GCOS, you can:

• Set up the experiment

• Scan the array to obtain the basic intensity value

• Use this basic intensity value to calculate intensity data for each

probe cell and save the data in a cell intensity data file (with the
.cel extension)

• Import data from earlier software into GCOS in a form that

GTYPE can use
