Locomotive Cab Display Module (LCDM)
Maintenance Manual

Doc. No. IP-235

03

7.1

General

Preventive maintenance must be carried out by the operator during intermission periods or

during scheduled downtimes. It may never be carried out during normal operating periods!

Preventive maintenance must be carried out by trained operating personnel.

7.2

Line Replaceable Unit

The smallest exchangeable unit is the LCDM.

7.3

Preventive Maintenance

A daily inspection is carried out within the scope of the daily operation. This includes a visual

inspection by the driver, who must confirm the self-test and any error messages.

7.3.1

Inspecting the Function

Preventive maintenance is performed outside of normal operating times by the user. This

includes an inspection every two years, whereby a function test must be carried out

according to upkeep instructions. Especially the display and the CCFL tubes must be

checked for function and brightness and replaced, if necessary.

7.3.2

Inspecting the Display Background Lighting

The display background lighting (CCFL) is subject to physical ageing and must be visually

inspected once a year.

This inspection must focus on the display and lighting. If necessary, the CCFL lighting must

be replaced prematurely.

7.3.3

Cleaning Notes

The front frame and display/touch panel of the LCDM may only be cleaned with com-

mercially available household or glass cleaners (dish-washing liquid).

Use of aggressive solvents (e.g. acetone, benzene, thinners, tetrachloromethane) will cause

permanent damage.

7.4

Corrective Maintenance

Replacement of LCDM components and repairs may only be performed by an agent of

NYAB/KB.

7 Maintenance

Tampering with or removing the rear cover of the
LCDM during the warranty period voids the warranty.
