3. clean the battery terminals. Be careful not to let corrosion come in contact
with your eyes.
4. add distilled water to each cell until the acid level in the battery reaches
that specified by the battery manufacturer. Do not overfill. For batteries
without removable cell caps, such as valve lead acid batteries, follow the
manufacturer's charging instructions carefully.
5. study any special precautions taken by the battery manufacturer during
charging and the recommended charging rates.
6. determine the battery voltage by referring to the vehicle manual and
ensure that the output voltage mode is correct.
CONNECTION
To avoid sparks that could cause an explosion, always disconnect the mains
supply before connecting or disconnecting the battery. Connect the battery
terminals or ring terminals to the battery in the following order:
1) Connect the positive charging lead (RED) to the positive terminal of the
battery ( / +ve or P).
2) For vehicles with the battery still installed: Connect the negative charging
cable (BLACK) to the vehicle chassis (marked - / -ve or N), away from the
battery, fuel line and hot or moving parts.
For batteries removed from the vehicle: Connect the negative charging
cable (BLACK) to the negative terminal of the battery (marked - / -ve or N).
After connecting the clips, rotate them slightly to remove any dirt or
oxidation to ensure good contact.
OPERATION / SETTINGS
CHARGING
First make sure that the battery is a 6V or 12V battery. Do not charge
batteries with different operating voltages!
Connect the charger to the power supply (110V~60 Hz).
3. select the appropriate charging mode for your batteries using the "Mode"
button.
See 2-1 Product Overview for a description of the different modes.
Then connect the charger to the battery with the correct polarity. If
connected with reverse polarity or a short circuit at the terminals, "Err" will
illuminate.
5) The battery charger is equipped with an automatic memory function, i.e.
when AC power is connected it will start in the last selected mode.
When charging is complete, disconnect the charger from the mains. First
remove the terminal from the negative terminal and then from the positive
terminal.
SAFETY FUNCTIONS
The battery charger is equipped with the following safety functions:
Short circuit protection
Protection against overcharging
Reverse polarity protection
Overcharge protection
Overheating protection
CHARGE TIME
A partially charged battery takes less time to charge than a fully discharged
battery.
The approximate charging time of the battery can be calculated as
follows.equation:

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
The charger requires minimal maintenance. As with any appliance or tool, a
few common sense rules will extend the life of charger.
ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE CHARGER IS UNPLUGGED BEFORE
PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE OR CLEANING.
1. store in a clean, dry place
2. coil the cables when not in use.
3 Clean the casing and cables with a slightly damp cloth.
4 Remove any corrosion from the terminals with a solution of water and
baking soda.
5 Periodically inspect wires for cracks or other damage and replace if
necessary.
6. WARNING: All other services should be carried out by qualified personnel
only
