OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Remember the bin is equipped with
very dangerous rotating augers. Never
enter the bin unless the power to the
Stir-Rite and any unloading equipment
has been disconnected and locked out.
Always have another person present
before entering bin.
1. Have at least on full ring of grain in the bin
before starting the Stir-Rite augers. Grain
should be 30” to 36” deep.
2. With everyone out of the bin, turn the power
ON.
3. Watch the machine very carefully while the
auger trolleys make one full revolution along
the beam. This observation is necessary so you
can be sure that the pitman arm (which is lo-
cated on the main trolley) moves freely around
the sprockets. Also, check the drive wheel as it
moves along the track. If the machine is running
properly, your Stir-Rite system is ready for full
operation.
FILLING
Keep the Stir-Rite system running when filling
the bin and during the early stages of the drying
process.
2. As the drying process continues to the point
where moisture levels drop, you can turn the
machine off more frequently. The Stir-Rite
should be run for a least a few minutes each
day to loosen up the grain around the auger.
Restarting can become more difficult the longer
the Stir-Rite augers are allowed to sit idle.
The amount of time the Stir-Rite system should
run is determined by the size of the bin, the
moisture content of the grain, and the number
of augers.
3. Do not overfill the bin! Stop filling the bin
when grain is 18” below the cross beam. Filling
above this line may cause motor failure or belt
failure.
4. IMPORTANT: Never store grain above the
cross beam because damage to the bin is likely
to occur.

sure no one is in the bin! Stirring augers
can grab clothing and entangle a per-
son in the auger—causing severe
injuries or death!
1. Make sure that all equipment and supplies
(such as ladders and tools) are out of the
bin.
2. With everyone out of the bin, turn the power
ON and be ready to shut it OFF immedi-
ately.

3. Check the rotation on all augers. Rotation
must be clockwise as viewed from above.
4. As soon as rotation is confirmed, turn the
Stir-Rite OFF.
5. If any auger is turning backwards, it’s prob-
ably wired incorrectly. Have a qualified
electrician check the wiring.
Remember to LOCK OUT POWER before en-
tering the bin.
Failure to heed these instructions can result in
serious injury or death.
