CAUTION:
Before picking up the processor,
reduce static discharge by touching the metal
frame of the system unit.
6. Lift the processor out of the socket (see Figure 3-11, A).

7. Continue with the following procedure to install the new processor.
Installing an Upgrade Processor
To install a processor, proceed as follows.
1. Remove the processor currently in the system (see “Removing the Processor”).

Align the notched corner of the processor with the pin 1 alignment corner in the
socket (see Figure 3-11, A). Insert the processor in the socket.
