CHAPTER 6 CONNECTING PERIPHERAL EQUIPMENT

6.1 Peripheral Equipment

A “host machine” is connected to the IE-784000-R as peripheral equipment.

<Host machine>

– PC-9800 series

The PC-9800 series can supply a consistent development environment where software development and total

evaluation of hardware can be carried out, when an optional control program for the IE-784000-R is executed

on Windows

– IBM PC/AT

The IBM PC/AT can supply a consistent development environment where software development and total

evaluation of hardware can be carried out, when an optional control program for the IE-784000-R is executed

on Windows.

– Work station

A work station can supply a consistent development environment where software development and total

evaluation of hardware can be carried out, when an optional control program for the IE-784000-R is executed

on OS.

6.2 Interface of IE-784000-R

To connect the IE-784000-R with peripheral equipment, a serial interface (channel 1), PC bus interface (channel

3), or network interface (channel 3) is used.

Note that channel 2 of the IE-784000-R is reserved and cannot be used.
