If you choose Partial Recovery:
1.
On the next screen, select which user profiles to retain from the drop down list and click
Next.
Note:
•
If you do not select one or several profiles, you will need to create one or several new
profiles as when you started the computer for the first time. However, all personal data
and settings will be retained.
•
If you restore one or several user profiles, your computer will display the Windows
desktop in the same state as it was before the recovery. All your personal data and
settings will be retained.
2.
The next screen displays a summary of your selected options. Click
Next
to launch recovery.
3.
The message "
Please wait, recovery in progress...
" appears.
4.
When the recovery process is over, click
Next
.
5.
If you selected to restore user profiles, click
Next
when finished.
The system shuts down.
6.
Power on the system and perform the setup process again.
Finalising Partial Recovery
After the Partial Recovery process has completed and if you have used default Windows settings, your
data is available for retrieval in the following locations:
•
Contents of the Documents and Settings directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\[Chosen User Name]\...
•
Applications:
C:\Program Files\[Application Name]\...
•
Use the Windows Search Engine to find other files.
Note:
Any third party software added since you bought your computer and that you wish to
use again, will need to be reinstalled.

System Restore
System Restore tracks the changes to your computer and creates a restore point when it detects the
beginning of a change. It will undo harmful changes to your computer and restore its settings and
performance including your personal documents and e-mail.

. You access the
System Restore
welcome screen.
Creating a Restore Point
Your computer automatically creates restore points at scheduled times or before some programs are
changed. However, you can create your own restore points other than those scheduled by the computer.
