Chapter 2 Preparations

(2) Settings

after Installation

Depending on the type of the installed PCI card, some settings of the workstation must be changed by using the

proper utility (such as the BIOS SETUP Utility or the setup utility in the PCI card) after the installation. Refer to

the manual provided with the PCI card.

The workstation scans the PCI bus numbers in the ascending order after the power-on. If the BIOS utility is

stored in the optional ROM mounted on the PCI card, the PCI bus start messages (banners) appear in the

ascending order of the PCI bus numbers.

(3) Removal

Remove the PCI card in reverse order of installation procedure.

Important If the PCI card is installed in PCI Express(x16) slot, remove the card while pushing

the lock of PCI Express slot from the other side.

Pay attention not to apply excess force to the lock.
