Chapter 5 Replacing Modules

Overview of Replacing Modules
Replace the modules by using the following procedure.
It is recommended that more than one person removes the server from the rack.
CAUTION
Be sure to observe the following precautions to use the server safely. Failure to
observe the precautions may cause burns, injury, and property damage. For
details, refer to
Safety precautions
in
Precautions for Use.

Do not drop the server
●
Do not leave the server pulled out of the rack
●
Replace the cover after installing components
●
Beware of high temperatures
●
Do not get your fingers caught when installing components

If the server is mounted on a rack, use the UID switch to identify the target server.

).
Tips
When the UID switch of the server module to be replaced is lit, UID lamps of CSC
modules on the front panel and the back of the server light up.
Light up the UID switch of the server module from EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3.

Remove the server to be replaced from the rack carefully.
Important Do not leave the removed server on the rack.

Remove the top cover.

4.
Follow the procedure for the components to be replaced in order.

Mount the top cover.
6.
Mount the server onto the rack.

installation).
This completes replacement of each module.
