Turning Off the Server
Turn off the server by using the following procedure. This procedure includes steps starting from turning off the
DC power to each module and, turning off the AC power to this server, as necessary.
1.
Log in to the OS in each server module from a remote location and shut down the OS.
2.
After the OS is shut down, each server module enters the DC OFF state.
3.
To completely turn off the AC power to this server, disconnect the AC cable connected on the rear of the
server and confirm that the POWER switch and POWER LED on the front of the server is off.
Tips
All POWER switches/lamps on the server turn off when all internal modules turn off
the DC power. When the POWER switch/lamp lights up, at least one module is in
the DC ON state. Turn off the module in the DC ON state before turning off the AC
power..
4.
Turn off peripheral devices.
Tips
Hibernation feature of Windows Server is not available. Do not set this feature from
the shutdown menu.
