Chapter 2 Installation and connection
Installation

This server can be installed on a rack made by NEC or other companies.
Install the server on a rack by using the following procedure.
• Preparation
Before installing the server, check and install the inner and outer rails.
Installing inner rails
Attach the inner rails to the both sides of the server.
Align inner rail with 10 protrusions on a 1.
side in the server chassis, and slide the
inner rail toward rear of the server.
Make sure the lock at around the center
of inner rail clicks to indicate that the rail
is locked.
Install another inner rail to the opposite 2.
side in the similar way.
Installing outer rails
Fit the square-shaped protrusions of the 1.
outer rail to the square holes before and
after the rack to install it. And make sure
that it clicks to indicate that it is locked.
The image on the upper right shows the
front right side and the lower right shows
the back right side.
Make sure that the outer rail is installed 2.
at the same height as the other outer rail
already installed.
