Controlling Resolution and Colors

The real mode 

 driver includes an installation

program called VGAINST which lets you choose dif-

ferent screen resolutions, colors, and interrupt vec-

tors.

 VGAINST 

was 

installed from the SETUP pro-

gram when you 

 the 

 drivers.

Follow these steps to use VGAINST:

Make the 

 sub-directory the 

directory.

Type VGAINST 

at 

the system prompt and

press 

You are asked several questions. Accept the

default responses (in brackets) by pressing

 or type in your own responses.

Enter the name of the driver you want to

modify. The default is

ENTER 

to accept the default.

Nob: You may want to create 

several 

different ver-

sions of the driver to support different resolutions or
