5.1.3 Spitting menu
Sets up the flushing operation while printing.
5.1.3.1 Spitting Pass count menu
Set the frequency (flushing return count) that the print head returns to the flushing box (located) on the
origin side when setting "On Media" in the Spitting menu.
NOTE
• When increasing the flushing return count, clogging may occur while printing continuously.
• If you set the flushing return count to "0 time or less", the nozzle will become easily clogged
because flushing is not performed over the media. In this instance, print quality cannot be
guaranteed.
Setup item Setting Description
Spitting <Origin> Perform the flushing operation on the flushing box every time
the print head returns to the origin position.
• [Enter] key: saves the setting and shifts to the previous
menu.
5.1 Setup menu
On Media Perform the flushing operation on the page margins.
The printing speed will be improved since the number of time
to return to the flushing box is reduced.
• [Enter] key: saves the setting and shifts to the sub menu.

menu.

Example
• -1 time: return to the flushing box on the original side every
time the print head goes and returns. Flushing is not
performed over the media.
• 0 time: the print head moves over the print media until
printing finishes, and does not return to the flushing box.
Flushing is not performed over the media, either.
• 1 time: return to the flushing box on the original side every
1 time the print head goes and returns.
• 5 times: return to the flushing box on the original side every
5 times the print head goes and returns.
