You have chosen a compressed air breathing ap-
paratus from the series BD - the AirMaXX.
Con-
gratulations for choosing the MSA AirMaXX, a high
performance reliable basic compressed air
breathing apparatus that is easy to handle.
For your safety, please read the In-
struction Manual carefully prior to
the first use.
This manual contains instructions for the optimal
use of the product. Like any piece of complex
equipment, this product will do the job it is de-
signed to do only if it is used and serviced accord-
ing to the manufacturer's instructions. This manual
must be carefully read by all individuals who have
or will have the responsibility for using or servicing
the AirMaXX.
The AirMaXX can only function properly if it is used
according to the instructions from MSA AUER.
The warranties made by MSA with respect to the
AirMaXX are voided if it is not used and serviced in
accordance with the instructions in this manual.
Please protect yourself and your employees by
following them.
Before choosing and using the AirMaXX, it is re-
quired to assess whether the product is suitable for
the application intended. Choice and use are be-
yond the control of MSA. Therefore, the liability of
MSA covers only the consistent quality of this
product.

warranties and conditions of sale and deliveries of
MSA.

The apparatus of the series MSA AirMaXX de-
scribed in this manual are in accordance with
Directive 89/686/EEC. They are compressed air
breathing apparatus according to EN 137.
