4.2.2
AirMaXX with two Cylinders
Fig. 3
•
Place the AirMaXX down in a horizontal posi-
tion with the outer side pointing up
•
Hinge cylinder separator into a vertical position
until it catches
•
If there is no T-piece connected to the pres-
sure reducer, it must be screwed in loosely
after the gasket in the pressure reducer has
been checked
•
Open tension clamp on cylinder strap by hing-
ing it up. If necessary, cancel the tension effect
by pulling the separator and extend the strap
(see Fig. 6)
•
Push one compressed air cylinder through the
loop of the cylinder strap that is opposite the
tension clamp with the cylinder valve toward
the T-piece
•
Loosely screw the cylinder valve onto the T-
piece
At the angled T-piece, when the pressure
reducer is hinged, both compressed air
cylinders must be pulled towards each
other and aligned.
•
Tighten all three hand wheels of the high pres-
sure connection until stop
•
Briefly open cylinder valves and check for es-
caping air, retighten if necessary
•
Pull jolt protector (optional) over screw con-
nections
•
Tighten cylinder strap on loose end
•
Hinge tension clamp down until it catches
•
Place free end of cylinder strap onto Velcro of
cylinder strap and push tight
•
Check tight position of compressed air cylin-
ders, retighten if necessary
4.3
Adjusting the Carrying Plate
Fig. 4
•
Push catch clips on inside of AirMaXX together
in direction of arrow and push adjusting plate
up or down to desired position and let clips
catch
4.4
Donning the AirMaXX
•
Check all components of the AirMaXX for visi-
ble malfunctions
•
Don AirMaXX with shoulder straps fully ex-
tended
•
Tighten shoulder straps till carrying plate fits
comfortably
•
Close hip belt and tighten loose ends
•
Adjust shoulder straps to achieve a comfort-
able weight distribution between shoulder
straps and hip belt
•
If required, connect lung governed demand
valve to medium pressure coupling (see In-
struction Manual of lung governed demand
valve), by guiding the line through the hose
strap
4.5
Condensed Check Prior to Use
•
Open cylinder valve(s) and check the pressure
on the pressure gauge, resp. the ICU (see In-
structions for Use of ICU). Depending on the
cylinder size, the pressure must be at least
270bar at 300bar cylinders, resp. 180bar at
200bar cylinders
•
Close cylinder valve(s)
•
Observe pressure gauge, resp. ICU; after 60
seconds the pressure drop must not exceed
10bar
•
Carefully activate flushing mode of lung gov-
erned demand valve, closing exit port as much
as possible.
•
Observe pressure gauge, resp. ICU
•
The warning signal must sound at 55
±
5bar
Jolt protector
