mechanism provides the best data protection and access control.

The

Pre Shared Key

is a passphrase shared between the Router and the clients and is used to gener-

ate dynamically changing keys. The passphrase can be 8-63 characters or up to 64 hex characters. It is
recommended to use at least 20 characters for best security.

•

WEP - Automatic

is a passphrase generator. You enter a passphrase that you choose in the

Pass-

phrase

field. The passphrase can be any string of words or numbers.

You can provide a level of data security by enabling WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) for encr yption of net-
work data. You can enable 40-, 128-, or 256-bit WEP Encr yption (depending on the capability of your cli-
ent wireless card) for IP traffic on your LAN.
