LAN

* Enable Interface

: Enables all LAN-connected computers to share resources and to connect to the WAN. 

The Inter face should always be enabled unless you are instructed to disable it by your Ser vice Provider dur-
ing troubleshooting.

* IP Address

: The LAN IP Address of the Gateway. The IP Address you assign to your LAN inter face must 

not be used by another device on your LAN network.

* IP Netmask

: Specifies the subnet mask for the TCP/IP network connected to the vir tual circuit. The sub-

net mask specifies which bits of the 32-bit binar y IP address represent network information. The default 
subnet mask for most networks is 255.255.255.0 (Class C subnet mask.)

* Restrictions

: Specifies whether an administrator can open a Web Administrator or Telnet connection to 

the Gateway over the LAN inter face in order to monitor and configure the Gateway. On the LAN Inter face, 
you can enable or disable administrator access. By default, administrative restrictions are turned off, 
meaning an administrator can open a Web Administrator or Telnet connection through the LAN Inter face.

• Advanced

: Clicking on the Advanced link displays the Advanced LAN IP Inter face page.
