Accessing the Messaging Features
Procedure:

Perform one of the following actions:
• Press the
Data Feature
button or the preprogrammed
TMS Feature
button to access the
TMS feature screen.
• Press and hold the
Data Feature
button or the preprogrammed
TMS Feature
button to
access the Inbox.
• Follow the procedure described next to access this feature using the radio menu.

NOTICE:
The radio automatically exits the feature, if the feature inactivity timer is
enabled, when the radio is left idle and the timer expires. You will hear the Menu Inactive

Composing and Sending a New Text Message
When and where to use:
During the uppercase and lowercase mode, multi-tapping the keys only scrolls through the letters. For

During the numeric mode, except for
, pressing the keypad only enters the numeric digits.
Subsequent presses of the same key inserts the same digit to the text message (no multi-tap).
