Error Conditions

2.1

MFC Error Procedure

If a paper jam or other error occurs in the MFC or online bookletmaker, the MFC will
stop.The type of error is shown on the GUI touch screen (see Section 2.3).

(1)

Clear the error. The error message on the touch screen tells you about the error.

(2)

Remove all the sheets from the MFC and online bookletmaker.

(3)

Follow any on-screen instructions. (See the related section of the

MFC User

Operating Instructions Manual

or the

MFC Service Manual

).

General Problems

The MFC will not boot-up

The 13A fuse on the power cord
plug is defective.

Replace the 13A fuse.

The mains input fuse in the CAP
module is defective.

Replace the fuse (see Section 7.1.1).

One of the main input fuses in the
DRV module plug is defective

Replace both fuses (see Section
7.1.1).

The main input switch is defective.

Replace the main input switch.

The main input switch is
illuminated but LED1 on low
voltage transformer is not
illuminated.

Fuse F6 is defective.

Replace the fuse (see Section 7.1.1).

The main input switch and
LED1 on the low voltage
transformer are illuminated
but the GUI CPU does not
start.

Fuse F1 is defective.

Replace the fuse (see Section 7.1.1).

The Interface PCB is defective.

Replace the interface PCB (see
Section 4.7.5).

The 20-way cable is not connected.

Check the cable connections.

The GUI CPU is defective.

Replace the GUI CPU (see Section
4.7.3).

The MFC boots-up but the
touch screen is not
illuminated

The 50-way cable is not connected.

Check the cable connections.

The GUI panel assembly is
defective.

Replace the GUI panel assembly (see
Section 4.7.4).

The MFC shows a ‘Fuses
Blown’ error message

The F4 or F5 fuse is defective.

Replace the fuse (see Section 7.1.1).

The windjammer cable or signal
interface PCB is not connected.

Check the windjammer cable

The MFC shows a ‘Error
on 28V Rail’ error
message

Fuse F2 is defective.
