Replace Components - Friction Feed Bin

4.9.1

Replace the Feed Wheels

Three types of feed wheel can be used on the feed shaft. The optional blue and orange
coloured wheels are designed to feed glossy and heavy coated stocks. Additional
wheels can be added to the shaft to give a maximum of five feed wheels. The standard
wheel positions can also be reconfigured for an alternative narrow spacing when
feeding narrow sheets.

Friction Feed Shaft

4.9.1.1

Remove the Feed Shaft

(1)

Turn off the MFC.

(2)

Hold the feed shaft on its RH end.

(3)

Push the feed shaft towards the LH side plate and compress the retaining spring.

(4)

Disengage the feed shaft from the clutch shaft on the RH side plate.

(5)

Pull the feed shaft towards you and out of the feed bin.

4.9.1.2

Install the Feed Wheels

Caution:

A blue or orange feed wheel must never be installed in the central position

above the separator. This can damage the separator.

(1)

Lubricate the feed shaft with water.

(2)

Slide each feed wheel off the shaft.

(3)

Slide the replacement feed wheels onto the shaft and set them within the indicated
positions.

(4)

Install the feed shaft.

(5)

Set the feed wheel alignment (see Section 4.5.8).
