3. Reset the Depth-direction Reference Point

Press the TOOL-UP key to move the cutting tool
away from the workpiece.

In MODELA Player's [Layout/Surfacing Settings]
dialog box, In the dialog box, drag the white circle
to move it next to the black circle where you per-
formed cutting in "2. Verify the Cutting Position and
Height When the Tool Is Lowered." In this example,
it's assumed that the black circle shown in the figure
was cut.

When you click the
button, the cutting tool
moves to the white circle.

Press the TOOL-DOWN key.
Release the key when the tip of the cutting tool
touches the surface of the workpiece.
The depth-direction reference point has now been
reset.

Lower the cutting tool at the four remaining corners
with the new reference point, and make sure that the
workpiece is not cut. (See "2. Verify the Cutting
Position and Height When the Tool Is Lowered" in
the previous section.) If the workpiece is cut, then
repeat steps 2 and 3 and set a new reference point.
* When you view the loaded workpiece edge-on from
the side, if there is any location higher than the
four corners, then move the cutting tool to that lo-
cation and redo the setting for the depth-direction
reference point.
