2. Verify the cutting position and the height when the tool is lowered.
Use MODELA Player to move the MODELA tool, then verify the following two points.
- Object Cutting Position
Make sure that the cutting position specified with MODELA Player matches the position of the workpiece loaded on the
Modela.
- Height When Tool Is Lowered
Move the tool, and verify the height when the tool is lowered to the depth-direction reference point.
If the height of the workpiece is not uniform, cutting deeper than the surface of the workpiece may be performed when the
tool is lowered to a position other than the position set for the depth-direction reference point.
If this happens, then set the depth-direction reference point again.
3. Reset the depth-direction reference point again.
In "2 verify the specified cutting position and the height when the tool is lowered," if the tool cut the surface of the workpiece, then
you need to redo the setting.
Reset the depth-direction reference point at the highest position on the workpiece.
If surfacing is started without redoing the setting first, then the amount of cutting in the first pass increases, which may place excessive
load on the tool and make it impossible to complete surfacing.
4. Perform surfacing.
1. Set the Depth-direction Reference point
You cannot set this while the VIEW LED is lit or during cutting.
2
Hold down the TOOL-DOWN key to lower the cut-
ting tool to close to the surface of the workpiece.
The cutting tool rotates
