If the dry fit is unsatisfactory, try the following fixes.
•
If the cowl refuses to climb up former A and mate with the nose skin, deepen the bevel
on former A, removing more foam.
•
If the cowling is too large and sags around former A, peel the masking tape and trim the
bottom edge(s) of the cowling.
•
If the cowling does not accurately follow the outline of former A, mold the cowling into
a tighter radius where necessary with your fingers.
•
If the problems persist, the best option is to remove the masking tape and begin by
gluing the top of the cowling to the top of former A. Work your way around the loop,
gluing only a little bit at a time.
Otherwise, once you are happy with the dry fit, remove the tape, glue the edges of the cowling
together, and glue the cowling onto the nose.
The fuselage of your P-51 is well on its way to completion!
