Glue the torque rod into the elevators, one side a time, pressing it down with a sharp object.

The elevators should now be bound in their motion.

Glue the middle flap shut as shown above, making sure that the elevators still have free motion.

Provide some relief for the elevators by running a wire through the indicated edges.
