Vehicle features and options
This chapter describes all standard, country-
specific and optional features offered with
the series. It also describes features and
functions that are not necessarily available
in your vehicle, e.g., due to the selected op-
tions or country versions. This also applies
to safety-related functions and systems.
When using these functions and systems,
the applicable laws and regulations must be
observed.

state
Principle
The following ready states can
be attained by pressing the
Start/Stop button:
–
Radio-ready state on/off.
–
Ignition on/off.
–
Activate/deactivate the drive-ready
state.
To activate the drive-ready state, you need
to press the brake pedal at the same time.
The drive-ready state cannot be activated as
long as the charging cable, refer to
page
, is connected.
Switching radio-ready state on/off
The radio-ready state is activated by press-
ing the Start/Stop button in the following
situations:
–
When the engine is running.
–
When drive-ready state is activated.
–
When the engine is switched off auto-
matically using the Auto Start/Stop
function.
Some electrical components remain ready
for operation.
Radio-ready state is switched off automati-
cally:
–
If the driver's or front passenger door is
opened when exiting the vehicle, with
the drive-ready state switched off man-
ually.
–
If the ignition is switched off manually
with the Start/Stop button.
–
After approx.
8
minutes.
–
When the vehicle is locked using the
central locking system.
–
Shortly before the battery is discharged
completely, so that the engine can still
be started.
When the door is opened, the system auto-
matically switches to the radio-ready state,
when the following prerequisites are met:
–
The engine is switched off and the igni-
tion is switched on.
–
The light is switched off or, with corre-
sponding equipment, the daytime driv-
ing lights are switched on.
Ignition on
Press the Start/Stop button, but do not
press on the brake pedal at the same time.
All vehicle systems are ready for operation.
Most of the indicator/warning lights in the
instrument cluster light up for a varied
length of time.
