7.4.4.1 Digital modes (digital, day counter, pulse counter, frequency, PWM)
If a universal input is operated in one of the digital modes, a switch contact can be connected
directly to the universal input without an additional energy supply.
Note: Due to the input circuit (see following schematic diagram), a cross current of 4,9µA is
generated for every universal input, that is operated in one of the digital modes, when the
switch contact is open. This increases the energy requirement and reduces the device
operating time.
