8.1. Reduced Print Quality
The troubles listed below can often be solved by the corresponding hints.
Please inform your service engineer if the troubles occur again after the correction.
Trouble
The printout is partially uneven.
The printout performance decreases
slowly.
The printout has "empty" spots.
The printout shows partially grey
stripes.
The printout shows a grey background.
There are spots of toner on the printout.
Correction
Clean the wires of the transfer-/separator
charger (see section 7.1.3).
Replace the transfer-/separator charger
(see section 7.6).
Use only dry fanfold paper.
Clean the wires of the main charger (see
section 7.1.1).
Clean the wires of the pre-charger (see
section 7.1.2).
The Pre-charger is dirty:
- Clean the pre-charger
(see section 7.1.2).
Developer unit dirty:
- Clean the developer unit
(see section 7.2).
Replace the toner cartridge
(see section 3.2)
Hint:
Fanfold material cannot be printed in the area of the sprocket holes, even in the
distance up to 5mm around the sprocket holes a reduced print quality has to be
expected.
